Our comments: According to our knowledge, the item is now controlled by DGT in Taiwan. DGT is an organization managing telecommunication products.

The definition of the following Table 1 has been modified to the Table 2 as below:

Table 2

C.C.C CODE Description of Goods Inspection standards Date of effect
8473.30.10.90 Parts and accessories of the machines of subheading No. 8471.10 8471.30 8471.41 8471.49 8471.50 8471.60 and 8471.70. (limited to Class B main board of computers and add-on cards with I/O port; except for Fax Card, Modem card, Fax/Modem Card and other add-on card with communication function) CNS13438 2000/7/1

Our comments: The Class A main board of computers and add-on cards with I/O port could be imported into Taiwan without BSMI EMI certificate. But according to our knowledge, BSMI will request the importer to provide the following at least to get a special permit from BSMI:

  • BSMI EMI certificate of the Class A system which will be used for the main board or add-on cards.
  • A photo of each the imported item
  • A photo of the imported item installed into the Class A system or detailed engineering drawing

The components, such as HDD, FDD, CD-ROM Drive etc. are still required a separate BSMI ID, because they have specific c.c.c. code individually

The Fax Card, Modem card, Fax/Modem Card are controlled by DGT from now on. The external type of Fax machine and modem are under consideration for being controlled by DGT from Sept. 1, 2000.
